Camilla Barry appointed as new Deputy Pensions Ombudsman

Camilla Barry has been confirmed for the appointment of Deputy Pensions Ombudsman (DPO) and Deputy Pension Protection Fund Ombudsman by the Minister for Pensions, Emma Reynolds MP. Camilla’s appointment will run for four years from 9 December 2024.

Camilla will be taking over from the current DPO, Anthony Arter. Anthony remained at TPO as Deputy Pensions Ombudsman after his term as Pensions Ombudsman ended as an interim appointment, in order to complete his cases for the Pensions Dishonesty Unit and to deal with any conflicts for the Pensions Ombudsman.

Dominic Harris, the present Pensions Ombudsman, said:

"I am delighted by Camilla’s appointment. She brings a wealth of experience in pensions law and knowledge about TPO itself, having worked as part of our legal team for the last year.  

"I would like to extend my personal thanks to our previous DPO, Anthony Arter, for agreeing to stay on as Deputy Pensions Ombudsman and his excellent work on some extremely complex Determinations that will make a huge difference to the scheme members affected."
