Outcome

I do not uphold Mr L’s complaint and no further action is required by TP.

My reasons for reaching this decision are explained in more detail below.

Complaint summary

Mr L has complained that, by applying a salary restriction to his 2010/2011 pension contributions, TP has inflated the value of his pension benefits for the purpose of the 2011/2012 pension input period (PIP), resulting in him exceeding the annual allowance.

Mr L considers that this is unfair as the change in regulations and annual allowance have resulted in him being disadvantaged retrospectively.
