Outcome

I do not uphold Mr E’s complaint and no further action is required by TP or Southampton.

My reasons for reaching this decision are explained in more detail below.

Complaint summary

Mr E has complained that:-

1. In 2001, Southampton’s Human Resources department (Southampton HR) provided him with incorrect information that TP did not usually accept transfers into TPS.
2. In 2016, TP refused a request he submitted to transfer pension benefits he had built up in the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) between 1999 and 2001 into TPS.
