Firefighters’ Pensions Scheme (PO-16358)
2. Kent County Council (KCC)
Ombudsman’s Determination
Outcome
Mr N’s complaint against KMFA is partly upheld, but there is a part of the complaint I do not agree with. To put matters right (for the part that is upheld) KMFA should pay Mr N £500 for significant distress and inconvenience.
My reasons for reaching this decision are explained in more detail below.
Complaint summary
Mr N has complained about the length of time taken to identify and notify him of an overpayment of injury pension and regarding the information provided in connection with the overpayment claim, which he considers to be insufficient and confusing. Mr N also considers the payslips provided in connection with his injury pension to be confusing and open to abuse.
