I do not uphold Mrs S’ complaint and no further action is required by the Council, the School or the Authority.

My reasons for reaching this decision are explained in more detail below.

Complaint summary

Mrs S retired early and requested the School to allow her to retire under “the rule of 85” (the rule). The School turned down Mrs S’ request to retire under the rule on several occasions. Mrs S has complained that the School has never considered her request appropriately and believes the matter should be remitted back to the School to reconsider.
