I do not uphold Mr S’ complaint and no further action is required by Hargreaves Lansdown.
My reasons for reaching this decision are explained in more detail below.
Complaint summary
Mr S has complained that the information he received from Hargreaves Lansdown, regarding his options when taking benefits from the SIPP, was insufficient. He says Hargreaves Landsdown should have provided him with more information about the “small pots” rule. He also says that Hargreaves Landsdown should have insisted that he take financial advice before making a decision.
