Outcome

I do not uphold Mr N’s complaint and no further action is required by NHS BSA or LCHS.

Complaint summary

Mr N’s complaint concerns NHS BSA’s decision to pay him only death in service benefits, in respect of his late mother’s (Ms N) membership in the Scheme. Mr N believes that NHS BSA and LCHS should have put Ms N’s ill-health retirement benefits (IHRB) into payment prior to her death; and, if they had, he would be eligible to receive the associated IHRB death benefits as her beneficiary.
