I do not uphold Mr Y’s referral, and no further action is required by the Board.
Complaint summary
The PPF Ombudsman has received a reference of a reviewable matter following a decision by the Board’s Reconsideration Committee dated 29 February 2024.The referral concerns the determination of Mr Y’s entitlement to PPF compensation. Mr Y has said:
he is entitled to 17 years’ pensionable service with the former Johnston Press Pension Plan, and this has not been recognised;
it took too long for the PPF to investigate his concerns; and
- he was only given 28 days to formulate an appeal to the Reconsideration Committee.
