Redress for non-financial injustice
Today, we have published revised guidance about redress for non-financial injustice caused by maladministration, this replaces our previous guidance on this.
The Pensions Ombudsman, Anthony Arter, has introduced fixed amounts for non-financial injustice awards (commonly referred to as ‘distress and inconvenience’ awards). This enhances transparency, creates consistency and manages expectations for all parties to the complaint.
This approach takes immediate effect for all open and new cases.
