Ombudsman’s Determination

Outcome

Mr N’s complaint against the Administrator and the Employer is partly upheld. To put matters right, the Administrator shall pay Mr N £500 in recognition of the significant distress and inconvenience caused.

Complaint summary

Mr N’s complaint is that the Employer, and the Administrator, incorrectly informed him that he was entitled to an unreduced pension from the Scheme.

Mr N has said that, as a result, his retirement plans have been put on hold, he has had to downsize his home and he is now left with half the income he expected.
