Local Government Pension Scheme (PO-22026)
Ombudsman’s Determination
Outcome
Mrs N’s complaint against the Council is partly upheld, but there is a part of the complaint I do not agree with. To put matters right (for the part that is upheld) the Council shall pay Mrs N £500 in recognition of the significant distress and inconvenience caused.
Complaint summary
Mrs N complains that her pensionable hours in respect of her employment with the Council have been incorrectly recorded and as a result she will not receive the pension she is entitled to under the Scheme. Mrs N would like her pensionable hours to be corrected and her benefits to be recalculated. She would also like the Council to provide all the information it has relied upon and compensation for the distress and inconvenience caused.
