Outcome

Mr S’ complaint against the Trustee is partly upheld. To put matters right the Trustee shall pay £1,000 to Mr S in respect of the serious distress and inconvenience which he has suffered. 

Complaint summary

Mr S has complained that the Trustee changed the method for calculating early retirement pension benefits in the Scheme. 

As a result, the pension benefits he was due to receive at age 55 were lower than the ones he had previously been quoted.
